Nashik: Dr. Orbital Atherectomy at Magnum Heart Institute has successfully performed the first Orbital Atherectomy in North Maharashtra after Mumbai in Nashik. Manoj Chopra's team was successful. A 59-year-old patient from Mumbai was admitted to Magnum Heart Institute, Nashik Hospital after cardiac arrest. The patient had a previous bypass. Again, the patient suffered from coronary ischemia due to calcium deposition. Bypass was not possible as the patient was medically unfit. Also, balloon and stent placement becomes difficult due to high calcium barrier in the patient. Therefore, Dr. Magnum Hospital decided to perform angioplasty on the patient with the help of the latest Diamondback 360 orbital atherectomy system. Taken by Manoj Chopra. The orbital atherectomy system requires a very high degree of skill and precision in handling. Dr. Chopra and his team applied a pressure of 80, 000 KPA to drain calcium from the patient's artery and then performed coronary stenting.
